The Shelter Island Runabout

The new Shelter Island Runabout offers comfort, smart looks, safety and reliability in a yacht which is easy to use for a quick jaunt to your favorite destination.

Twin diesel or gas power packages are available ranging from 230 to 415 HP per engine. Her moderate V-hull is designed with 15 degree deadrise at the transom and a narrow 10 foot beam to provide stability and comfort at all speeds. Combine this with noise and vibration reduction systems and you will have composed the perfect harmony between handsome styling, speed and comfort.

The deck is designed with flexibility and safety in mind. An appropriately sized side deck is provided to walk forward without sacrificing valuable interior cabin or cockpit space. The cockpit and deck incorporate safe hand holds for adverse conditions. The forepeak contains the anchor with rode and provides additional storage for fenders and docklines. An optional anchor roller with windlass is available.

The aft cockpit is left open for individual owners' custom layouts. Fighting chairs, lounging chairs, folding captain chairs or athwarship benches are just some of the options. There is ample storage under the cockpit sole. Access to the engine room is provided through the aft deck hatch.

The cockpit provides safety from the elements behind a windshield and canvas navy top. Options are left to each individual's desires such as a hard top, tuna tower or radar post. To starboard is the helm-seat steering station with engine instrumentation and appropriate navigational equipment.

The interior is available with teak or mahogany joiner-work, paneled doors, and white bulkheads or completely varnished in gloss or satin with your choice of woods. Ample storage is provided in assorted lockers for clothing food and toiletries. Five inch thick cushions provide comfort for sitting or sleeping while four opening ports and overhead opening hatch allow natural lighting and abundant ventilation.
