Robert Long has published two chapbooks and one full-length book of poems (What Happens). His forthcoming book is called Blue. His poems and fiction have appeared in dozens of magazines and anthologies, including The New Yorker, Poetry, Partisan Review, and New American Poets of the 90s. He edited the anthologies Long Island Poets and For David Ignatow. He has also published widely as an art and book critic. He has taught at several colleges and universities, including Long Island University and La Salle University, where he was writer-in-residence. Among his awards are a Yeats Fellowship and a poetry fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts.

Currently he is Adjunct Professor of English at Suffolk Community College, a Thesis Committee Director for the Antioch College M. A. in Writing program, Director of Literary Programs at Guild Hall in East Hampton, New York, and senior art critic for The Southampton Press.
